Tenaga Nasional Berhad ( TNB ) - Ranting
2 Months ago, I made a transaction through RHB online to pay my electricity bill. Last month, I still received a bill WITH the tunggakan that I had paid 2 months ago. I thought the bank must have misplaced or late for sending in the payment for me. So I ignore the tunggakan and proceed on paying the rest through post office FOR the first time.
This month, I STILL receive my tunggakan. I made several phone calls to RHB at first to enquire regarding my payment and they said that they had already made that payment several months ago and the reason I still receive tunggakan is because my TNB account number was OBSOLETE!!! In short, TNB closed the account number and opened a new one without informing the clients. Well they DO in a way but you must watch closely to your account number everytime you pay your bills through online transaction. Fine, it was partly my fault for not being tedious and careful enough to realize that the account number had changed. Mind you that there's no highlighting or whatever information telling you that the account number had changed. I still put the blame on TNB for not being capable enough to handle these simple transaction.
I called up TNB and end up, they NEED me to BE THERE just to transfer the money from one account to another. How inconvenient. In addition to that, Passing the reference number given by the bank is reasonable enough but they need the old bill account number as well. Why? I'll tell you later.
This morning I dropped by TNB after some half an hour squirring around KL town. I'm a penangite alright and I don't know my way around KL. Fine. My turn, I go there I tell her that I had mistakenly made a payment to a closed account and now I want to transfer the money to the new account. I had the new account number, the reference number from the bank BUT I don't have the old bill account number. Damn, I forgot about it. Oh well, I THOUGHT they SHOULD have it since that's the branch which has all the information about the bill on that house. I THOUGHT WRONG. They don't. Rather the information was removed from the database and probably they need to check through files by files. The girl search through the owner of the house. 1 data found. The new address, the new payment, and the new account number. Where's the old one? No history payment, no old bill account number, no nothing. She asked me if I happen to have the old account number? Why should I when the branch is holding every single payment? Where did my payment go to?
I have to go there again tomorrow morning. How "convenient" they do things. If there's ever any other electric supplier, I'll be the first to support. But I guess there won't be. Such a disappointment.
